I think Cheetah and Maxwell Lord are 2 good villain choices for some of the general concepts of the Cold War, like Diana and Cheetah being two former allies turned rivals (like the U.S. There's a casting called 'Young Max' floating around in there. I'm 90% convinced Pedro Pascal is Maxwell Lord although it hasn't actually been confirmed yet. But if they're bringing Antiope back from the dead, I'm expecting Steve to be brought back from the dead too I've seen speculation that the 1984 Steve could just be the 1914 Steve's grandson or something. I'm not inherently mad at the idea of them reappearing, I just think there's more pressure to do it well now given the ways they died in the 2017 movie. Whatever way they choose to bring Steve and Antiope back into the movie, I won't care as long as it's done well within a good plot. My new theory is that Maxwell Lord is going to use business connections to find/create that device and it'll be responsible for the resurrection of Steve Trevor and Antiope to get to Diana.
But there's a device in the Wonder Woman mythos called the Purple Ray that conveniently resurrects the dead. The Duke is actually who I thought Kristoffer Polaha could be playing, because I thought a Duke could fit into a story with Barbara Minerva and her British origins. Originally, I thought Steve and Antiope could be illusions created by the Duke of Deception. I feel like he's just straight-up coming back to life somehow.

Honestly, I can't imagine they leave Pine out of a considerable role in the 2nd movie and then leave him out of the 3rd movie entirely after his performance in the 2017 movie. And I do understand where people are coming from when they say it could cheapen his death, but I'd rather just wait and see how they do it before judging. These are two dead characters and I've seen the controversy about their return (specifically Pine's) in the sequel. So we have Gal Gadot as Diana, Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta, Kristen Wiig as Cheetah.Ĭhris Pine and Robin Wright - Steve Trevor and Antiope A lot of these actors could be playing original characters, but these are just some of the comic-book characters/events/details I think they could tie into if they're true Reminder: IMDB casts aren't always confirmed and don't have strong fact-checking systems behind them, so these castings aren't fully confirmed or anything yet.
